STEP 1: AGE
San Marco consider the age as one of the factors in determining the choice of the type of saddle, referring to 3 intervals. You can indicate the class which you belong choosing among:
- UNDER 30 years old
- BETWEEN 30 AND 45 years old
- OLDER THAN 45 years old
STEP 2: SENSITIVITY TO PRESSURE
The perineum is an area rich in nerve endings between the ischial bones whose exposure differs depending on the subject. A greater exposure results in higher compression with a consequent reduced blood flow and soreness. The level of perineal pressure and your personal sensitivity are decisive factors in the choice of the saddle and can be differentiate into:
- HIGH (suggested for beginners)
- LOW (no pressure sensitivity)
STEP 3: BODY TYPE
Determine your body type using the three-macro categories of the classification known as "somatotype". Each one features specific physical characteristics through which every person can be easily identified.
- ENDOMORPH is well-built with a large bone structure
- ECTOMORPH is slender with a slim bone structure
- MESOMORPH includes all the remaining cases
With the help of the pictures here reproduced, you are able to determine the category you belong to.
STEP 4: HEIGHT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HANDLEBAR TO SADDLE
Your riding position on the bike is a consequence of the difference between the height of the saddle and the one of the handlebar. This value is the handlebar-to-saddle delta and according to the difference (delta), it is a matched to one of the 3 proposed categories:
STEP 5: RIDE STYLE
Our range features 2 ergonomics types:
Choose a WAVED (curved profile) saddle if you normally sit against the back and pedal from a fixed position. This profile supports you if pedalling uphill thanks to the rear part slightly raised.
Or select a FLAT (straight profile) saddle if you prefer to make a greater use of the entire surface of the saddle, with frequetnt movements back and forth.
